Erdogan Exploits Extremist Organizations in Campaigning for 2023 Elections
Ankara continues the political upheavals we have grown accustomed to since President Recep Tayyip Erdogan took office, but now things are happening at an unprecedented pace and as a kind of political propaganda on its claims of seeking justice, equality, and democracy, with Islamism organizations trying to spit out propaganda.
Political Islam organizations in Turkey
The Erdoğan regime has been trying to paint political Islamist organizations with a kind of political propaganda that claims to be seeking justice and democratic equality, while the facts show their authoritarianism in their practices and the intolerance of the other.
According to news reports, legal debates in Islamic countries, among them, are very important, and important messages were sent at the “Constitutional Judiciary in the Islamic World” conference held in Istanbul last week, which was hosted by the Constitutional Court.
Unfortunately, however, it is not possible to apply universal legal norms in countries that have not been able to reach the Association of Constitutional Democracies, especially in Turkey, where Turkey has the most serious democratic experience which shows how difficult it is for Muslims to deal with it.
Arab Countries and their Relations with Turkey
It is worth mentioning that the Arab Islamists in Turkey are facing a difficult situation and an alliance with the government of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, following the policy that Turkey continues to pursue, especially the rapprochement and reconciliation with some of the regional regimes that are considered the enemies of political Islam.
Informed sources indicated that this is amid fears among the leaders and supporters of the movement of political Islam in Turkey of Erdogan’s new policy of reconciliation with foreign countries and seeking to do so, as well as the efforts of the Turkish government to rapprochement with its adversaries in the region.
At the expense of sacrifice, or Erdogan’s government’s renunciation of support for terrorism, or stopping hosting them in Istanbul, which some consider the capital of Islamists, while embracing sons of terrorism and the Brotherhood.
“Arab Islamists do not seem happy with Ankara’s new policies and efforts to repair its deteriorating relations with Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Cairo, and, before them, Tel Aviv, but they cannot protest or express discontent and reject the Turkish president’s steps.”
