Fire in a Cottage in Wintzenheim: At Least Nine Bodies Found

Nine people perished this Wednesday morning in a fire that engulfed a cottage in Wintzenheim (Haut-Rhin).

A fire devastated a cottage located in La Forge, a commune in Wintzenheim in Haut-Rhin, this Wednesday morning. The building is adjacent to the therapeutic, educational, and pedagogical institute (ITEP) and was hosting a group of 28 people, including adults with “mild mental disabilities” and their caregivers.

Two bodies are still missing. The causes of the fire outbreak are not yet known. The victims are disabled adults and a caregiver from Nancy.
