Germany tightens noose on Brotherhood… a document exposes the group’s cross-border terrorism
With the increasing dangers of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group worldwide, Germany is increasing its stranglehold on members of the group day by day. The past period has witnessed numerous parliamentary attempts to restrict them and deter their terrorist activities.
German parties, especially the Christian Union, the main opposition party, initiated seven parliamentary actions, including draft resolutions and briefing requests, in just four months, sending written notes to parliament containing information on the structures and activities of the Brotherhood and other terrorist organizations, and their attempts to influence young people and radicalize them.
On July 19, German parties submitted a memorandum to parliament, revealing the Brotherhood’s “cross-border” network and information on the group’s structures, especially those operating between Austria and Germany, stating that “the federal security authorities have information about organizational relations and contacts between German and Austrian Islamists.”
The memo said: “There are links between the Brotherhood’s structures in Austria and Germany through the umbrella organization of the Brotherhood in Europe, the Union of Islamic Organizations in Europe,” she said, adding that “the foreign influence on the German and Austrian branches of the Brotherhood, namely the German Muslim Community (Germany) and the Association of Culture (Austria), is through the pan-European organization; The Union of Islamic Organizations in Europe (now known as the Council of European Muslims).”
“The Brotherhood describes the Union of Islamic Organizations in Europe as its (European wing), as part of the activities of the Union of Islamic Organizations, there is also a network linking Brotherhood representatives in Germany and Austria,” it said.

The memorandum exemplified the cross-border nature of terrorist organizations, such as the Muslim Brotherhood and associated organizations, a conference held in Austria on February 26, 2022, entitled “Muslims and Islamic Unions in Austria in a Political Focus”.
Representatives of Islamist organizations in Germany, such as the leaders of the Turkish Brotherhood-affiliated Millî Görüş organization, participated in the conference. The German memorandum explained that this conference is an example of cross-border Islamist coordination.
The note was in response to a request for a briefing by the Left Party in Parliament earlier this month, entitled “Current Links of German and Austrian Islamists,” which included the fact that links between terrorist cells in Austria and Germany were also raised during the Vienna terrorist attack on 2 November 2020, as the perpetrator met with accomplices present on German soil.
The briefing request monitored the terrorist cell affiliated with ISIS in Austria last month, to discuss the links between Islamist organizations in general in Austria and Germany.
