Hamas After the Bombing of Khadija School: Israel Lies and Does Not Want to Stop Its Aggression

Hamas leader Osama Hamdan confirmed on Saturday that the movement had agreed to the mediators’ proposals for a ceasefire in Gaza but noted that Israel does not want to halt its attacks.

Hamdan said, “We agreed to the mediators’ serious proposals, but Israel does not want to end its aggression.”

He pointed out, “Israel is trying to pressure Hamas by escalating its military operations.” Commenting on the recent deadly attack, he added, “What happened in Deir al-Balah is a continuation of the genocidal plan practiced by the Israeli occupation.”

The Hamas leader continued, “Israel continues to lie by claiming that Khadija School is a Hamas command center.” On Saturday, dozens of Palestinians were killed or injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting Khadija School, which housed displaced persons and had a field hospital in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian news agency (WAFA).

Local sources reported that Israeli aircraft bombed the school west of Deir al-Balah, resulting in at least 30 Palestinian deaths, including children and women, and dozens of serious injuries.

Rescue and civil defense teams are still recovering bodies, and the death toll could rise at any moment.

Israeli Defense Forces spokesman Avichai Adraee stated that the military struck what he described as a Hamas command and control center located inside Khadija School, adding that “several members of the movement had been eliminated within the complex.”

He mentioned, “An aircraft, directed by the Shin Bet, military intelligence, and the southern command, attacked a Hamas command and control center hidden inside Khadija School in central Gaza Strip.”
