Led by the Muslim Brotherhood leader Atiya Adlan in Turkey… What do you know about the Courts Research and Studies Center?
The Courts Research and Studies Center is a scientific/legal center established in 2021 in Istanbul, Turkey. It operates with the goal of “serving Islamic courts and highlighting them as the foundational system for the unity of the nation and as pillars safeguarding the religion of God,” according to a definition provided by the “Arab Center for Extremism Studies.”
The term “courts” refers to religious or Quranic courts, described as “the clear, evident path that does not lead astray those who follow it; they are the clarifications of the religion and its clear evidence that does not change, alter, contain confusion, or lead astray.”
According to the center, its strategic objectives include explaining Islamic courts and raising awareness about them, qualifying distinguished scientific competencies in understanding the courts, and establishing scientific partnerships with individuals and scientific institutions with shared interests.
As for its executive program, it encompasses authoring and writing books and articles, summarizing them into short briefs, and posting them on social media platforms. It also includes training programs aimed at equipping scientific personnel capable of spreading awareness about the courts through various possible and available methods.
The executive program involves scientific partnerships, collaborating with universities, academies, research institutions, and others to broaden the circle of those carrying the center’s message. It also includes accompanying activities ranging from workshops, seminars, and interviews to various artistic works contributing to the widespread dissemination and embedding of the courts in people’s minds on a broad scale.
Among the topics the center works on are monotheism as a civilizational value, the identity of the Islamic nation, the unity of the Islamic nation, the path to empowerment for this nation, and the hijab as a decisive obligation. However, the primary focus of the center since its establishment is Arab normalization with Israel. It dedicated an entire research session to compose and publish a series of books and brochures warning against the prohibition of establishing relations with Israel, considering it a violation of Islam. This is surprising given the center’s location in Turkey, which maintains strong relations with Israel.
The session emphasizes the necessity of confrontation with “infidels” and “jihad” to liberate the occupied Islamic lands. Some of these books/brochures include “The Harms of Normalization with the Zionist Entity: Egypt as a Model,” “The Legitimate Fatwas for Normalization: Presentation and Critique,” “The Future of Al-Aqsa Mosque in Light of Trump’s Deal of the Century,” “Arab-Israeli Peace Treaties in the Balance of Islamic Sharia,” and “The Innovation of Ibrahimism: Why Islam cannot be associated with the religion of the People of the Book?”
The center is led by Atiya Adlan, one of the Salafi leaders supporting the Muslim Brotherhood in Turkey, and the prominent Libyan Muslim Brotherhood leader Salem Al-Sheikhi holds the position of Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
