Marib massacre: Yemen condemns bloody Houthi attack

The Yemeni government has condemned in the strongest terms the horrific massacre by Houthi militia of a residential neighborhood in Marib by a ballistic missile.

“This despicable crime is an extension of the systematic and deliberate bombardment carried out by the Houthi terrorist militia on residential neighborhoods and civilians in the city of Marib”, said Mouammar al-Eryani, the Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism in the Yemeni legitimate government, in a series of tweets.

“The Houthi deliberate targeting of residential neighborhoods and civilians is a full-fledged war crime and a cowardly act of revenge that reflects the state of bankruptcy it is suffering after the heinous defeats and losses it suffered at the hands of the army, resistance and the giants’ brigades on various battlefronts,” he said.

The Yemeni official called on the international community, the United Nations, human rights organizations and UN and US envoys to issue a clear and unequivocal condemnation of this crime. He also called for speeding up the inclusion of Houthi militias in international terrorism lists, prosecuting and prosecuting their leaders, and ensuring they do not go unpunished.

Some 28 civilians were killed and wounded in a Houthi rocket attack on a residential neighborhood in Marib city. This is the latest crime committed by Houthi militias against civilians in the city of Marib, which comes amid intense fighting between the Giants and the Iranian-backed Houthi militias.

The Houthi targeting of residential neighborhoods with ballistic missiles is seen as a retaliatory response to the losses they suffered, which culminated in their expulsion from Harib District, south of Marib. The giants have made significant progress on the ground over the past few days, and the fighting has shifted to the al-Abdiyah district, which will likely see the expulsion of Houthi militias from large parts in the coming hours.
