Raising the banner of “rumors” as a means to achieve political ambitions that were buried by a revolution that uprooted them, the Muslim Brotherhood, classified as a terrorist organization in Egypt, continues to “test the waters” of the political scene.

The latest of these Brotherhood claims is their allegation that one of Egypt’s Interior Ministry departments issued a document listing the number of dead, injured, and arrested during the dispersals of the sit-ins in Raba’a al-Adawiya and al-Nahda squares.

However, this claim was shattered against the rock of facts. Egypt’s Interior Ministry denied in a statement on Friday the “circulation of information on one of the accounts of a fugitive member of the Muslim Brotherhood abroad, on social media, concerning a letter purportedly issued by one of the Interior Ministry’s departments, listing the number of dead, injured, and arrested during the dispersals of the sit-ins in Raba’a al-Adawiya and al-Nahda squares.”

The Interior Ministry stated that the information shared was entirely false, noting that “it had already circulated last year and was denied.”

The ministry further emphasized that the recurrence of these same allegations highlights the bankruptcy of the terrorist group, adding that it is part of the lies it spreads to cover up its crimes.

These rumors follow another recently spread by the Muslim Brotherhood, which attempted to promote allegations regarding the reform and rehabilitation centers where its leaders and members are held. The Egyptian Interior Ministry also denied these claims, stating that these allegations were part of “the plans of the terrorist organization and its affiliated media outlets, aimed at creating confusion by distorting facts and spreading fabricated lies to undermine security and stability, which the Egyptian people are fully aware of,” according to the statement.

In a second rumor, the Muslim Brotherhood claimed there were nighttime gatherings in one of the provinces. The Interior Ministry also denied this rumor, saying that the video relied upon by the terrorist organization “was old and had circulated several years ago.”

Despite these claims being repeatedly debunked by facts, the Muslim Brotherhood has not tired of repeating them. Recently, its affiliated pages claimed the introduction of a new communication system, which the Interior Ministry also denied.
