Saudi Cabinet Welcomes Participants in ‘Middle East Green Initiative Summit’

The Saudi Cabinet welcomed on Tuesday heads of state and their representatives, as well as participants in the “Saudi Green Initiative Forum and “Middle East Green Initiative Summit” that the Kingdom will host on October 23 -25.

Hosting the two events emanates from the Kingdom’s pioneering role in protecting the climate and supporting the international community’s efforts in confronting the main challenges related to the environment, said Minister of State, Cabinet’s Member and Acting Minister of Media Dr. Essam bin Saad bin Saeed, in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, chaired the Cabinet’s virtual session.

The Cabinet reviewed the recent meetings that took place between the Kingdom and a number of countries with the aim of enhancing aspects of joint and multilateral cooperation at different levels, the Acting Minister of Media said.

He added that the Cabinet addressed the Kingdom’s statements during the meetings held last week within the framework of the G20.

Saudi Arabia affirmed its interest in reforming the global economy through the “Riyadh Initiative for the World Trade Organization’s Future”, which was endorsed by G20 leaders last year.
