Sudanese Army Soldiers and Islamist Militias Accused of Looting Homes and Assaulting Civilians

Soldiers from the Sudanese army, Islamist militias affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, and their supporting armed groups, have carried out extensive looting of civilian homes in the Salha neighborhood of Omdurman following the withdrawal of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) during recent fighting.

According to the Al-Rakoba website, the central Salha Resistance Committees issued a statement condemning the looting committed by regular army forces, noting that these homes had previously been subjected to theft, in addition to assaults on the local population.

The statement described these acts as unacceptable and contrary to human values and ethics, calling on the relevant authorities to take immediate action to halt these violations and hold those responsible accountable.

The committees also demanded protection for citizens and their property in the future, and assurances that such attacks will not be repeated, as a large number of people have already been affected.

Meanwhile, the Sudanese army announced yesterday that its forces, together with allied militias, had defeated the Rapid Support Forces in the Salha area of Omdurman, seizing a significant amount of military supplies. This was hailed as a strategic victory in the battle for territorial control.

The army stated that search operations are ongoing, with full security measures implemented in the surrounding areas to ensure firm control over the territory.
