The Trump administration vowed to impose sanctions arms manufacturers that deal with Iran


The Trump administration promised on Wednesday that it will impose the full force of US sanctions on any international arms manufacturers that trade with Iran when Washington sees the reimpose of a United Nations arms embargo on Tehran.

Elliott Abrams, the US special envoy on Iran, published the alert in a briefing with reporters after hours that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo reported that the United States would return to the UN to attempt to restore sanctions on Iran next week, although without any presence of support within the UN Security Council.

Indeed, the Security Council refused completely a US attempt on August 14 to prolong an international arms embargo on Iran after its expiration in October; however, the United States is making efforts based on its own legal interpretation
