From Cairo.. Sudanese parties seek solutions to their political crises

In light of the Egyptian state-led movements to resolve the crises in the region, most notably the political crisis in Sudan, the political workshop entitled “Prospects for a democratic transition towards a Sudan that accommodates all” was launched in the new administrative capital, with the participation of many active Sudanese political forces. The workshop was held amid aspirations to represent a purely national Sudanese forum to discuss issues that need effective solutions within the framework of a serious dialog that would lead to a “Sudanese-Sudanese” consensus that meets the aspirations of the Sudanese people.

Egyptian Initiative

Egyptian media reports said the atmosphere was warm and positive during the opening session, which was attended by dozens of heads and representatives of the political and party spectrum in Sudan, and will last for six days, with the conclusion to be on next Tuesday, February 7th. Participants in the 85th session, representing about 35 Sudanese political parties and sects, noted that the participants started the session by thanking Egypt for hosting the meeting.

Instability

Former Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs, Ambassador Ibrahim Al-Shuwaimi, says that Sudan is living in a state of political instability, pointing out that Egypt’s efforts to reconcile the views of the parties in Sudan are not a result of the moment. He affirms Egypt’s pioneering role in the region to resolve the various conflict crises and political situations in Sudan, pointing out that the Egyptian initiative is a good gesture to reconcile the Sudanese.

Inviting Parties

He added that Egypt has invited the Sudanese political parties to the table in order to resolve the crisis, and there are intensive efforts to reconcile visions to reach a solution and get Sudan to safety, in order to overcome the difficult conditions that Sudan is currently experiencing to get out of the dark tunnel to safety in the country.

He explained that Cairo is keen on the security and stability of Sudan, especially that the transitional phase witnessed many tensions and that the Sudanese issue is not far from Cairo, stressing that the presence of most representatives from various Sudanese movements and entities confirms that the Egyptian initiative will come up with important decisions that will rescue Sudan from its difficult situation at that time. He stressed that all Sudanese parties are required at that time to overcome the difficult conditions and present real visions for the Sudanese people, who live in extremely difficult economic and political conditions.
