Toy gun triggers crisis in Germany
The use of a toy gun by a group of individuals on Sunday led to police intervention in the city of Trier in southwestern Germany.
Police reported that witnesses observed a group of people using a “firearm-like object” at a gas station in the afternoon and promptly informed the police.
Upon investigation, the police confirmed that the suspicious object was just a toy gun.
The police strongly advised against handling weapons in public places, “even if they are just toys, especially in light of the upcoming carnival celebrations.”
They emphasized that in situations of uncertainty, it is always advisable to assume that it could be mistaken for a real firearm, as this could lead to a larger police operation.
