Trump or Vance: Who Will Represent the United States at the Signing of the Agreement with Iran?

Who will represent the United States at the ceremony for signing the agreement with Iran scheduled for next Friday in Switzerland?

U.S. Vice President JD Vance announced on Sunday that he plans to attend the signing ceremony of the peace agreement with Iran in Switzerland, while noting that President Donald Trump may also participate.

Responding to a question from Fox News about whether he would attend the signing ceremony, which Pakistan, acting as mediator, said would take place in Geneva on June 19, Vance replied: “I certainly plan to be there, but it is possible that the President himself will be there as well.”

Vance added: “If Iran complies with the agreement, it will receive genuine advantages and tangible benefits.”

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had previously announced that a peace agreement had been reached between the United States and Iran.

In a post published on the social media platform X on Sunday, Sharif stated: “Following intensive negotiations, we are pleased to announce that a peace agreement has been reached between the United States of America and Iran.”

He added: “Both parties have declared an immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon. The official signing ceremony will take place on June 19 in Switzerland.”

He further noted that, once the agreement enters into force, mediators will facilitate a series of meetings throughout the week, which will lay the groundwork for technical discussions and the formal signing ceremony.
