Four European Countries: Iran Must Never Acquire Nuclear Weapons

The United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Italy have stated that Iran must “never” obtain nuclear weapons.

In a joint statement, the four countries expressed their readiness to lift sanctions imposed on Iran in response to steps related to its nuclear program, following the agreement reached between the United States and Iran to end the conflict between them.

The statement said: “Iran must never acquire a nuclear weapon. We are prepared to work with the United States, Iran, and the International Atomic Energy Agency to achieve this objective.”

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had earlier announced that a peace agreement had been reached between the United States and Iran.

In a post published on the social media platform X on Sunday, Sharif stated: “Following intensive negotiations, we are pleased to announce that a peace agreement has been reached between the United States of America and Iran.”

He added: “Both parties have declared an immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon. The official signing ceremony will take place on June 19 in Switzerland.”

He further noted that, once the agreement enters into force, mediators will facilitate a series of meetings during the week, laying the groundwork for technical discussions and the formal signing ceremony.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump announced his approval of the agreement with Iran, adding that “the agreement is now complete.”
