Kais Saied exposes Muslim Brotherhood plot to destabilise Tunisia

After being rejected by the Tunisian people, the Muslim Brotherhood is allegedly attempting to mobilise the public against the government through ongoing schemes, which the presidency has exposed and is determined to confront firmly and decisively.

Tunisian President Kais Saied said that “investigations have established that water and electricity outages in many areas were not the result of ordinary technical failures, but rather of deliberate acts aimed at inflaming tensions in the country”.

He made the remarks during a meeting at the Carthage Palace attended by Prime Minister Sara Zaafrani, Minister of Equipment and acting Minister of Energy Salah Zouari, Minister of Agriculture Ezzeddine Ben Cheikh, Chairman and CEO of the Tunisian Company of Electricity and Gas Faisal Tarifa, and Chairman and CEO of the National Water Exploitation and Distribution Company Abdelhamid Menja.

During the meeting, the Tunisian president said that “the multiplication and recurrence in recent times of a number of phenomena and problems across several sectors and regions cannot be regarded as merely temporary events or isolated incidents”.

Saied affirmed that “the enemies of the nation and those who support them have now been exposed before the Tunisian people”, referring to the Muslim Brotherhood. He stressed that “as long as the domestic front remains united, and as long as awareness continues despite all attempts to inflame tensions, all these criminal schemes, regardless of where they originate, will be brought to nothing”.
