Tunisia is working to uncover secret Brotherhood funds

The Tunisian State has recently waged a real war against terrorism and corruption, against all those who have committed crimes against Tunisia, the Arab region and its people.

In addition, the Tunisian State is trying to put an end to the attempts of terrorist groups to return. The Ennahdha Movement, the arm of the Muslim Brotherhood organization in Tunisia, and all its members are behind all the turmoil that the country has witnessed because of the wrong policies they were following in order to achieve their personal interests above all, and to spread chaos and corruption in the country, without regard to the interests of the Tunisian people, who reject the existence of subversive groups.

Namaa and Ennahdha

The terrorist Ennahdha movement continues to be involved in terrorist operations in the country, through foreign funding of secret societies, including the recently-established Namaa Association, as one of the associations used by Ennahdha to finance its suspicious activities.

Observers confirmed that Ennahdha had planned and planned to carry out terrorist operations and physical liquidation of anyone who threatens its presence in Tunisia, pointing out that the secret service of Ennahdha was involved in bringing more than 100,000 firearms into Tunisia since 2011. In July, the Tunisian judiciary will begin an investigation of the leader of the Ennahdha Brotherhood, Rached Ghannouchi, accused of three cases, including money laundering and attacks on the security of the State and political assassinations. A committee from the Central Bank also froze the funds of his son Mouaz and his son-in-law Rafik Abdessalem, who is being prosecuted for belonging to a terrorist organization. Sources confirmed that the Tunisian judiciary obtained evidence confirming the relationship between Ennahdha and Namaa Association, after the association was accused of financing the secret service, which is also accused of being behind the 2013 assassinations.

Close association

Political analyst and Tunisian legal expert Hazem Ksouri says that the Tunisian Anti-Terrorism Court will investigate Ghannouchi on July 19, regarding the case of the “Namaa Tounes” charity, which comes within the framework of uncovering the financial arm of the secret organization of the Muslim Brotherhood in Tunisia.

“Ghannouchi is in a serious predicament in this case, which revealed the extent of the legal violations related to money laundering through an association with suspicious activities, in accordance with the Terrorism and Money Laundering Law of 2015, and the United Nations Resolution 2178 requires Tunisia to track individuals and groups closely linked to terrorism and money laundering”, Ksouri said. He added that the Tunisian authorities monitored large financial flows of the association that were not in line with its authorized activities.

One of dozens of charities, development and humanitarian organizations the Brotherhood has been active in since 2011, and is the movement’s financial arm, said Tunisian political analyst Brahim Jadla.

He continued: “All of these associations receive substantial funds from many foreign parties for two main purposes: money laundering and supporting terrorism locally and regionally”.

He said what is needed now is not only holding Namaa accountable, but also exposing the financial and terrorist octopus and exposing and prosecuting anyone who participated or covered it up.
