Turkey Renews Rocket Attack on Villages in Northern Iraq
Turkish aircraft renewed their bombardment of mountainous terrain and a number of villages in the city of Dohuk in the Kurdish region in the far north of Iraq.
According to the official Iraqi television, on Sunday, Turkish military helicopters bombed a number of mountainous heights and Iraqi Kurdish villages in the Kurdistan region, and it is not yet clear the extent of casualties and losses.
Earlier, Iraq condemned the Turkish shelling of the northern province of Dohuk, which resulted in deaths and injuries.
This came in a statement issued by the Iraqi Presidency, in which it called for the withdrawal of Turkish forces that are present in the regions of northern Iraq and Mossoul.
Ankara continues to launch its military operations inside Iraqi territory bordering the Kurdistan region under the pretext of pursuing the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, which opposes the Erdoğan regime.
Despite Baghdad’s condemnation of these “sovereign breaches” and international and regional disdain for Ankara’s military policies in Iraq, Turkey continues its attacks almost continuously.
