War in Ukraine: Cristiano Ronaldo’s message of peace
Like many other public figures in the past few days, Portuguese international player and striker Cristiano Ronaldo has posted a message of peace on social media.
The war in Ukraine by Russia’s armed forces is of concern to the entire world, while it has also touched the hearts of several sports personalities who have also spoken out for peace.
“We must create a better world for our children. I pray for peace in our world,” the Portuguese player wrote on Instagram on Friday night.
On the other hand, Ronaldo has launched an initiative supporting the Ukrainian army, offering a jersey signed by him at an auction.
According to local news agency Ukrinform, the international player’s jersey sold for more than two thousand euros on Monday.
The money will be used to buy medicine for the army, according to the initiative’s organizers.
