Will the opposition parties succeed in bringing down Erdogan’s regime?
All of Turkey’s opposition parties have united to topple President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s regime.
The US daily ‘’New York Times’’, in a detailed report on the political climate in Turkey, stated: « Opposition parties are increasingly organized and working together to replace President Erdogan and end his 19-year rule with early elections»

The report adds: ‘’the six opposition parties, looking forward to the elections, are working to end the strong presidential regime and restore parliamentary rule. The 6 opposition parties, which are negotiating a larger coalition between themselves, are trying to turn the upcoming elections into a referendum against the presidential regime’’.
The report insisted that the presidential regime Erdogan had pressured to endorse it as a success of which he was proud had given it many powers and a weak democracy, according to the opposition.
Pointing out that the People’s Democratic Party and other leftist parties are not part of the Alliance, the newspaper continues saying: ‘’All parties share a common goal of offering Erdogan an alternative in the 2023 elections, despite political and ideological differences, and both sides hope to replicate the success of the 2019 municipal elections, in which they tore major cities, including Istanbul, from the Justice and Development Party’’.
The New York Times reported that opposition unity against authoritarian leaders had been tried and succeeded in several countries, such as the center-right coalition that defeated Prime Minister Andrej Babis in the recent elections in the Czech Republic.
Against the same background, the leader of Turkey’s opposition, the chairman of the Republican People’s Party, Kemal Kılıcdaroglu, has accused Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of instigating widespread oppression.
Kemal Kılıcdaroglu, according to Turkish newspaper Zaman, said: Erdogan’s Justice and Development Party, which was in power 19 years ago, claimed to be fighting corruption, poverty, and taboos, but it has destroyed the nation.
The leader of the opposition, who says that Turkey is living in an economy of total poverty, adds: Erdogan and his party have brought intimidation and injustice, so they will leave power with these things.
Kılıcdaroglu said that the minimum wage is below the hunger limit, and called on the government to increase the minimum wage from 2,825 to 3,049 Turkish pounds, which is the hunger limit.

The Leader of the Opposition continues: « There are millions of poor people today, we are talking about extreme poverty, there are women collecting food in containers for their children, I am talking about Turkey in the 21st century, not in the Middle Ages, there are thousands of families living in the garbage of the market ».
Kılıcdaroglu assured that his party would win the elections with its principles and sense of justice, indicating that they would focus on the problems of all citizens, regardless of whether they voted for them or not.
