Yemen’s Brotherhood attempts to create chaos in Shabwah… Details
The local leadership of the Southern Transitional Council in Shabwah province supported Awadh AL-Awlaki the governor’s decision to dismiss Abd Rabbu Laakab, a Muslim Brotherhood leader, from the STC’s command, following his role in fomenting security chaos.
It described the decision as a necessary and firm response to control the seriousness of the security situation and contain its repercussions, pointing to the armed clash in the city of Ataq and the subsequent deterioration of the security and military situation, according to Al-Mashhad.
“The Shabwah governor’s decision is a sign that the leadership of the local authority and the security and military committees are shouldering their responsibility”, it said, after all the forces, sects and components of society in Shabwah agreed to exercise restraint to spare the province the scourge of strife and conflict.
The Brotherhood’s leadership blamed the Special Forces for attempting to fuel sedition and hide behind their party banner, referring to the Reform Party, the political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood. The Brotherhood considered the Brotherhood a gamble on the fate of the province and its future.
The local leadership of the council concluded its statement by warning of irresponsible actions aimed at bringing Shabwah back to the conflict and preventing it from moving towards stability, development and public tranquility.
It called for giving priority to the interests of Shabwah above all other narrow interests and acting in a responsible and positive spirit to preserve the social fabric of the province, safeguard the blood and lives of its people and protect their security and tranquility.
In a statement carried by the official Saba agency, Shabwah governor Awad al-Awlaki said members of a military faction controlled by the Brotherhood’s al-Islah party rebelled after he dismissed the commander of the province’s special forces and two of his officers for refusing to empower a security commander assigned by the governor to supervise those forces until the conclusion of an investigation into clashes between members of the special security forces and forces from the Shabwah Defense Brigade in Ataq, the capital of Shabwah province, which resulted in the death of two soldiers.
The Brotherhood’s first rebellion against the internationally recognized authority was led by the participation of security forces accused of waging fierce clashes in Shabwah province.
The Brotherhood’s leader, Brigadier General Abd Rabbu Laqab, is leading a rebellion against the decision of local authorities in Shabwah after he was dismissed from the Special Forces command for involvement in fighting and creating chaos in order to pass the Brotherhood organization project, which is classified in many countries as a terrorist organization.
The Brotherhood’s militias and their compounds within security and military units in Shabwah began attacking the Shabwah Defense Security Forces and the southern Amalekites backed by the Arab coalition, Aden Time reported.
Several streets witnessed violent clashes that erupted in the middle of Ataq streets and around the Special Forces camp in the city following an attack by Brotherhood militias led by “Laakab” on the Giants’ forces.
The attack involved various types of weapons, including artillery and the Shabwah Defense Units, the local force responsible for policing the province under coalition supervision.
The clashes resulted in deaths and injuries, and ambulances were seen rushing to transfer the injured to hospitals in Shabwah, according to sources.
