Huge explosions rock Sanaa… what do Houthi militias have to do with?

Activists on social media in Yemen have circulated an initial picture of the explosions that rocked the capital Sanaa, which is under the control of the Houthi coup militia.

Local sources and a number of residents according to what was reported by Al-Mashhad Al-Yemeni website that violent explosions were heard southeast of the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, without mentioning the reasons behind the explosions.

A military source said that a ballistic missile exploded while he was being transported by the Houthi terrorist militia in Sanaa, causing great panic among the population.

Houthi militias moved a Scud ballistic missile from a storage and manufacturing facility at Al-Hafa camp in Assafi’yah district, east of Sanaa, to be fired before it explodes in a resounding manner, he said.

The source said that there were likely killed and injured among the missile experts of the Houthi militia.

A few days ago, another ballistic missile exploded near Sanaa airport, killing five Houthi militia engineers, including foreigners, and wounding civilians and damaging their homes.

The Yemeni government viewed this as a serious indication of the flow of Iranian arms, the use of the UN truce to amass more smuggled Iranian weapons in residential neighborhoods, and the use of civilians as human shields.
