Yemen’s Brotherhood – Objectives and secrets of their rebellion? Analysts answer…

The Houthi and Muslim Brotherhood plots targeting the security and stability of Yemen and its various regions continue to cause unrest in Yemen. The Muslim Brotherhood’s al-Islah party is planning to revolt against the current situation and attempt a coup against the current governor after the removal of their former governor.

Brotherhood rebellion

Despite presidential decrees to dismiss three rebel military and security leaders in Shabwah province, appoint new leaders loyal to the recognized government, and push the Brotherhood with new reinforcements from Marib to Shabwah (south) to fuel the flames of strife and chaos, the forces of the giants committed to the decisions of the Presidential Command Council intervened to stop them and prevent them from reaching the city of Ataq.

The Brotherhood rebellion began at dawn last Monday after the governor of Shabwah dismissed the commander of the Special Forces in the province, Brothers Abd Rabbo Lakab, and the commander of the Special Forces, Ahmed Daraan.

Respond forcefully

The governor of Shabwah in southern Yemen, Awad Al-Awlaki, announced the launch of a military “counter-offensive” to end the Muslim Brotherhood insurgency and impose security and stability in Ataq, the capital of the governorate. The governor issued a statement saying: “We have exhausted all peaceful means in dealing with the rebellion and the brutal coup against the decisions of the local authority in the province, and we have tried with every effort to make the city of Ataq and the province as a safe and secure country,” he said, pointing out that some groups have refused to use force, violence, create chaos, sow discord, disrupt national security and stability, and violate all the resolutions and laws in force in the province.

He added, “In view of our responsibility and the legal powers granted to us and our duty towards our people, security and stability, we announce to our people the implementation of a military counter-operation to impose security and stability in Shabwah Province to preserve the lives and property of residents on its land, stressing that no group, person or entity outside the rule of law will be held accountable for all those who are responsible for the failed rebellion and coup, which has caused the death of innocent people and co-ups and co-ups, and co-operation with the believers,” The hot fronts with the enemy and its use of force and weapons to fight the Yemeni people do not deserve a foothold in our province.

Systematic warfare

Yemeni political analyst Abdul Sattar al-Shimri said: The Al-Islah Party and the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist group are leading a systematic war that was planned months ago with external support, with the aim of dismantling the military striking unit of the Presidential Command Council. He confirmed that there is a state of concern and apprehension among the Brotherhood that they will meet the fate of the treatment of the Houthis, noting that there is Brotherhood and Houthi coordination in order to create a state of anxiety and confusion in Yemen.

The Yemeni political analyst added that the Brotherhood, represented by the Reform Party, is implementing foreign agendas aimed at undermining the legitimacy of the Presidential Council and the symbolism of the state, represented by the governor of Shabwah, Awad Al-Awlaki. This is a coup not against the local authority, but against the Presidential Council as a whole, noting that the Brotherhood was afraid that the Presidential Command Council would move towards Marib and Taiz, and decided to distract everyone in the battles against the governor of Shabwah.
