UAE: We support the Presidential Leadership Council to achieve stability in Yemen
The United Arab Emirates has congratulated Rashad al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Command Council in Yemen, and members of the Council on their swearing-in.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation affirmed the UAE’s full support to the Presidential Command Council to enable it to exercise its functions, foremost of which is peace, stability and development in Yemen.
The UAE stressed its commitment to stand by the brotherly Yemeni people and support their legitimate aspirations for development and prosperity, within the framework of its policy of supporting everything that serves the interests of the peoples of the region.
Rashad al-Alimi, chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Command Council, thanked the Arab Coalition, Saudi Arabia and the UAE for their unlimited support for Yemen.
The chairman of the Presidential Command Council said earlier: “We will do our best to address political and security challenges across the country”.
He continued in his first address to the Yemeni people: ‘We thank the Arab coalition, Saudi Arabia and the UAE for their unlimited support for Yemen in the political, economic and security fields”.
“We call on the people to put aside differences and direct all efforts to restore the state”, he said, vowing to spare Yemen from the greed of those who target its Arabism and its social and geographic fabric.
