Israel and Hezbollah… 6 Months of “Measured Tension”
Israeli data reveals the toll of 6 months of tension between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, encapsulating details of a northern front that has not calmed since the outbreak of the Gaza war.
Hezbollah has been exchanging fire almost daily across the border with the Israeli army since Hamas launched its attack on southern Israel on October 7th, leading to the outbreak of the war in Gaza.
Since the conflict began on the same day, the Israeli data indicates that 18 Israelis have been killed compared to 275 Hezbollah fighters.
According to data released by the “Israeli Institute for National Security Studies”, more than 3,135 rockets and shells have been fired at Israel from Lebanon and Syria since the start of the conflict.
The tensions have also led to the evacuation of 43 Israeli towns near the Lebanese border, including 60,778 Israelis evacuated from their homes near the Lebanese border to Israeli hotels and guesthouses in various parts of Israel.
In contrast, the same data indicates that 90,000 people have left their towns in southern Lebanon since the start of the conflict.
According to the center, Israel’s warning sirens have sounded 1,454 times since October 8th, announcing attacks, including 1,226 carried out by Hezbollah.
It also noted that the Israeli army has carried out 4,500 attacks in Lebanon since the start of the conflict.
