A series of Houthi rebel attacks against Saudi Arabia
The Saudi-led Arab coalition reported on Friday that the Kingdom was subjected to 16 hostile attacks today, noting that it is exercising restraint to make the Yemeni consultations a success.
“We warn the Houthis to continue their grave violations and not to test our patience”.
The coalition also said that its air defenses destroyed two drones that were launched at Najran, Saudi Arabia.
“Shrapnel from the interception scattered in some residential neighborhoods in Najran and caused minor material damages without causing any human losses”, it said.
Terrorism targets “energy security”
The coalition also pointed out that an aggressive operation had targeted Aramco’s oil distribution station in Jeddah.
“A fire at two reservoirs at the Aramco facility in Jeddah has been brought under control”, it said. There were no injuries or human losses.
“Initial indications confirm that Aramco plant in Jeddah was targeted by Houthi terrorist militias”, he said.
“The hostile escalation targets oil installations and tries to affect energy security and the world economy”, it said.
“No impact”
The coalition said in its statement that there will be no impact or repercussions from the Houthi offensive on public life in Jeddah.
Earlier today, the coalition announced that Saudi air defenses had destroyed a ballistic missile fired towards the Kingdom’s city of Jizan.
In a statement late Friday, the coalition said Saudi defenses also destroyed a booby-trapped drone that had been launched towards the city of Najran, noting that it was monitoring and monitoring the sources of hostilities.
A limited fire at the Samtah power distribution plant caused no casualties, and some civilian vehicles and residential houses were damaged in the attacks, the coalition said.
According to observers, the intensified Houthi attacks at this time are a clear attempt to derail the Yemeni consultations, which Saudi Arabia maintains as a political solution to the crisis in Yemen.
