Bloodshed on the eve of Eid in Gaza: seven killed in Khan Younis and Al-Maghazi

The situation in Gaza has changed little from wartime conditions, as the sound of bombardment echoed from the center of the territory to the south, with bloodshed continuing on the eve of Eid.

On Tuesday, two Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting their vehicle in Khan Younis in southern Gaza, bringing the total number of Palestinians killed during the day to seven, according to civil defense officials and medical sources.

The emergency and admissions department at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis said that two bodies were brought to the hospital after Israeli aircraft targeted the vehicle they were traveling in near Al-Baraq alley in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis.

Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Bassal told Agence France-Presse that the two victims and several wounded individuals had been transported, noting that the targeted vehicle caught fire “while driving near camps for displaced persons.”

Earlier in the morning, five Palestinians were killed in an Israeli strike on Al-Maghazi camp in central Gaza.

Mahmoud Bassal told AFP that five bodies and several injured people were transferred following a strike carried out by an Israeli drone east of Al-Maghazi camp.

Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah confirmed the arrival of fatalities and wounded individuals.

The hospital’s emergency department added that at least one body was “dismembered and charred,” noting that nine injured people had also been admitted.

A ceasefire between Israel and Gaza has been in effect since last October, although Israeli strikes continue on an almost daily basis.
