Death of Alaska Serial Killer Under Mysterious Circumstances

Joshua Wade, the serial killer who confessed to killing five people in Alaska between 1994 and 2007, has died in prison.

A statement issued by the Indiana Department of Correction indicated that Wade died on June 14 at the age of 44 in a state prison in Michigan City.

The spokesperson for the Department of Correction said Wade was found unconscious in his cell, and despite rescue efforts, paramedics pronounced him dead.

The spokesperson added that the cause of death is still unclear, and an autopsy will be conducted on Wade’s body.

Public media in Alaska reported earlier this week that despite Wade being convicted on state and federal charges in Alaska, he was transferred to an Indiana prison in 2014 after accepting a plea deal with state and federal prosecutors.

A press release issued in June 2014 by the FBI confirmed that Wade confessed to killing Della Brown in 2000 when he was 20 years old, after hitting her on the head with a large rock.

In 2007, Wade kidnapped and killed Mindy Schloss, a nurse practitioner and his neighbor, after torturing her.

According to the FBI, Wade later told investigators that he also killed two men in 1994 and 1999, in addition to another man on the night he killed Brown in 2000.
