EdF: the moving message from Deschamps to Pogba

Paul Pogba was not called to the France team for the June rally because of a thigh injury, but he remains very popular with Didier Deschamps.

On Wednesday at 2 p.m., Didier Deschamps unveiled his list of 23 players called for the next two matches of the French team, against Gibraltar (June 16) and Greece (June 19), in the context of the Euro 2024 playoffs.

Once again injured – this time in the left thigh – Paul Pogba was not logically retained by the tricolor coach for this last rally of the 2022-2023 season, Football reports.

Still, the midfielder of Juventus Turin remains very popular with “DD”, who opened the doors of selection when he is cleared of his physical glitches.

“He was getting into thinking”

“I had a lot of back and forth with Paul. He has a very difficult season, already off the field, Deschamps said in a press conference. He has repeated injuries.

He had a problem again. Of course, he would reflect on the matches that he could have played. He has been a fundamental player, will he be in the coming years? I hope so. I hope so for him and the French team.”

In the meantime, Didier Deschamps decided to trust Aurélien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, Adrien Rabiot, Youssouf Fofana and Antoine Griezmann, now considered a number 8 by the former OM coach.
