European analysts reveal the role of governments in restricting the activities of the Muslim Brotherhood and aiming to ban it
Germany is continuing its efforts to implement a new package of measures to counter the spread and infiltration of extremist organizations and ideological groups and to cut off their funding sources, in conjunction with its strategy to combat terrorism and extremism.
Decisive action
According to numerous reports, Germany is heading towards a more decisive confrontation with the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization in the coming period, as the terrorist group faces successive blows from the German state against the Muslim Brotherhood, and its social and intellectual arms inside Germany, which started by expelling all Muslim Brotherhood fronts, foremost of which is the Islamic Center in Munich, the Muslim Brotherhood Student Union, and other Brotherhood organizations and institutions.
Strong movements
Dr. Jassim Mohammed, head of the European Center for Counter-Terrorism, confirmed that there is a movement within the German Parliament (Bundestag) to place the Muslim Brotherhood in Germany under a ban, impose strict measures on its activities inside Germany, and identify funding directed at it from inside and outside.
The President of the European Center for Counter-Terrorism added that the Christian Party, led by former German Chancellor Angela Merkel, demanded the banning of the group in 2019, and the same project was proposed by the Alternative Party in 2021, pointing out that the German government took some measures, and indeed imposed strict measures, and also the Supreme Council of Muslims removed all organizations representing the Brotherhood, and stripped its members of their positions and activities, foremost among them Ibrahim El-Zayat, who is considered the Minister of Finance of the Brotherhood in Germany, and the source of funding for the international organization of the group. He explained that the Constitution Protection Authority recommends disclosing the sources of external funding for the Brotherhood, and differentiating between the organizations and the facades it operates and the facades it, whether in the form of individuals or institutions.
Dr. Aqeela Dabechi, President of the French Center for Strategic and Political Studies, said that there are widespread European movements to displace the Muslim Brotherhood from the political and societal scene in the old continent, pointing out that the group has an approach based on building parallel societies, which represents a danger to the European society.
The President of the French Center for Strategic and Political Studies added that the measures taking place in Europe have blocked the activity of religious extremist groups and the extreme right, in light of increasing warnings from the security and intelligence services, in addition to strengthening mechanisms to deal with the modern tools in which these groups are penetrating, and carrying out security campaigns targeting religious and extreme right-wing extremist groups, in order to achieve a pre-emptive deterrence of their activities and to curb funding and intellectual confrontation.
