Explosions Rock Sanaa as U.S. Strikes Houthi Positions

Violent explosions rocked the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, on Tuesday evening, following a series of U.S. airstrikes targeting positions held by the Iran-backed Houthi militias.

Local residents said they heard a series of loud explosions in the east and west of Sanaa, as warplanes flew intensively overhead.

According to sources, several airstrikes hit Houthi infrastructure at Barash Camp, located east of Niqm, in eastern Sanaa. Three additional strikes targeted fortified Houthi positions in Bani Hashish and Sarf, in the eastern part of the governorate.

Another U.S. strike reportedly hit a secret site used by the Houthi militia in the Al-Hayd Valley, southeast of Sanaa, the sources added.

At dawn, a series of air raids also targeted strategic weapons depots and advanced Houthi positions in the provinces of Taiz, Al-Jawf, and Saada. Specifically, six strikes hit Bart Al-Anan district, two strikes hit locations in Al-Kurabiya in Maqbana district, and four others struck the Sahar district.

Since March 15, the United States has been conducting a wide-scale air campaign against militia positions in 13 Yemeni provinces, as part of its efforts to deter Houthi threats to international maritime navigation and inflict heavy losses, particularly among drone and long-range missile operators.
