Palestine in the Heart

Palestine has never been a trivial matter in the UAE’s policy and the priorities of its leader. The UAE’s actions consistently affirm its commitment to Palestine, especially during times of need.

Under the leadership of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE played a vital role in breaking the deadlock of the United Nations Security Council by calling for daily ceasefires in Gaza, demonstrating the UAE’s diplomatic efforts to protect civilians.

The UAE refused the displacement of Palestinians, insisted on a ceasefire, and advocated for the two-state solution as a path to permanent peace. Its corridors, from Abu Dhabi to New York, were buzzing with restless honeybee cells.

Security Council Resolution 2712, calling for a series of temporary ceasefires in Gaza, was adopted. These ceasefires are sufficient for the full, urgent, safe, and unobstructed delivery of humanitarian aid, the release of all detainees, especially children, without conditions.

As the Arab member of the Council, the UAE worked closely with Malta’s permanent mission to the UN, responsible for formulating the resolution. It provided necessary support throughout the negotiations to prioritize child protection.

In tandem with diplomatic efforts, the UAE announced sending three water desalination stations to El-Arish airport, intending to transport them to Rafah city in Gaza as part of the “The Noble Knight 3” humanitarian operation to support the sector. These stations will provide about 600,000 gallons.

Earlier, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of the UAE, directed the hosting of 1000 Palestinian children with their families from Gaza, providing all necessary medical care in UAE hospitals until they recover and return.

Additionally, the UAE launched a campaign to aid Palestinians affected by the war in Gaza under the slogan “Mercy for Gaza,” before sending an urgent medical aid plane to help the people of the sector.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of the UAE, had previously ordered urgent assistance to the Palestinian brothers, amounting to $20 million, in support through the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA), which is almost entirely funded by contributions from UN member states.

Principle and Culture

Palestine has always been, and still is, the UAE’s primary concern. Its support has been confirmed by actions before words, in a humanitarian path that extends a helping hand to every needy or grieving person, just as the country did during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wings fly across every inch of the globe, spreading the values of love and giving and instilling hope in the world’s people through its pioneering humanitarian initiatives. These initiatives have solidified charitable and humanitarian principles as a culture among the people of the UAE, reaching different corners of the world.

The global pandemic terrified the world, but Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan‘s initiatives extended to enhance ways to combat the virus and its repercussions. His efforts contributed to making the UAE one of the first countries to successfully overcome the pandemic and transition to a full recovery phase.

His direct directives to provide assistance and send various types of material and in-kind aid to brothers and friends during the pandemic highlighted his commitment to supporting other nations.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of the UAE, dedicates himself to supporting neighboring and friendly countries, either through signing agreements that declare the meanings of coexistence and cooperation or through the UAE government’s contribution and the guidance of the Emirates Red Crescent and other charitable organizations to extend a helping hand to nations struck by wars, disasters, and crises.

He supports humanitarian and charitable efforts aimed at providing vaccines and funding campaigns to eradicate polio, especially in countries targeted by these initiatives.

To enhance the spirit of brotherhood among humans, Sheikh Mohmmed bin Zayed Al Nahyan always seeks to revive the noble values of human religion. Since the UAE declared 2019 the “Year of Tolerance,” he has led the scene with his positions and statements.

From his immortal positions was the reception of two of the world’s most important religious leaders: Pope Francis, the head of the Catholic Church, and Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar.

This historic meeting resulted in the signing of the “Document on Human Fraternity” to strengthen the culture of mutual respect and activate dialogue on coexistence and brotherhood.

Additionally, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of the UAE, launched the “Zayed Global Fund for Coexistence,” supporting efforts to promote a culture of peaceful coexistence and human brotherhood among the world’s peoples. This fund is a fundamental pillar for spreading solidarity and enhancing the spirit of brotherhood among nations.

A shining beacon of charity and humanity, forming an extension of the approach of the founding leader, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Its lights spread inside and outside the country.

A rich record written by history on tongues that praise a man of humanity, mouths that remember his generosity and solidarity, and smiling eyes and bodies bidding farewell to the causes of wars and calamities.
