Saudi Arabia and Iraq seek to strengthen bilateral relations


On Tuesday, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, affirmed in a video call with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi, the importance of the Kingdom’s relations with Iraq and both countries’ determination to enhance bilateral ties.

The Crown Prince related: The two countries are neighboring; we are all Arabs. We share the same religion; we have the same interests and challenges, and I am very glad to further develop a working relationship with Iraq.

Both leaders admitted strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields, such as politics, security, trade, investment, and tourism. They also agreed to open the Jadeedah Arar port for seven days and for the Saudi Commercial Attaché’s to begin soon the work in Baghdad.

The two sides admitted coordinating positions in the oil domain within the scope of OPEC and OPEC+ work. They confirmed their full engagement with all decisions that are previously approved.
