UAE Continues Distributing 150 Food Parcels in Amdjarass and Nearby Chadian Villages


The UAE humanitarian team present in the Republic of Chad continues the distribution of food parcels to Sudanese refugees and the local community in the city of Amdjarass.

    

The efforts of the humanitarian team, coordinated by the UAE Coordination Office for Humanitarian Aid in Chad, continue as part of the UAE’s ongoing endeavors to support the friendly Chadian people and enhance the efforts of Emirati humanitarian institutions that provide support to Sudanese refugees in Chad.

The UAE sends a humanitarian team to Chad to distribute food parcels to Sudanese refugees and the local community in the city of Amdjarass.

 

The humanitarian team consists of the UAE Red Crescent Authority, the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works, in addition to the UAE Coordination Office for Humanitarian Aid in Chad.

Reflecting the humanitarian agencies’ commitment in the UAE to delivering aid to its recipients and understanding their needs, the team visited the village of Johni, a part of the city of Amdjarass, and distributed food parcels to needy families on Saturday. This was carried out in the presence of representatives from the UAE humanitarian team, Azzeddine Dawood, the mayor of the city, and Mohammed Siri, the mayor of the village.

Mohammed Salem Al Amri from the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation stated that the team has distributed 150 food baskets so far, benefiting numerous Sudanese refugee brothers and families in the area. He pointed out that the team, under the guidance of the wise leadership, has intensified its efforts in recent times to alleviate the suffering of Sudanese refugees and ensure the provision of essential humanitarian support to Emirati institutions that provide assistance to Sudanese refugees in Chad.

He added that the UAE, under the directives of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the State, is always at the forefront in extending a helping hand and relief to brothers and friends around the world, following the path laid by its founder, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The UAE humanitarian team affirmed its full readiness to provide the village with clean drinking water supplies, as part of its efforts to meet the essential humanitarian needs of Sudanese refugee brothers in Chad and to support the local community, particularly the most vulnerable groups, including patients, children, the elderly, and women.

On his part, the mayor of Johni village expressed deep gratitude to the UAE for its humanitarian and charitable efforts that extend across the globe. He commended the efforts of the UAE humanitarian team, who traversed difficult roads to reach the remote village and provide assistance to its needy residents.
