UAE: Iraq’s PM and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince discussed bilateral relations


The Emirates News Agency (WAM) stated that Iraq’s Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi gathered on Sunday with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed during his official tour to the United Arab Emirates,

WAM quoted what the crown prince said: It was a pleasure to welcome our brother Mustafa al-Kadhimi, Prime Minister of Iraq to the UAE where he is amongst family. I look forward to our fruitful discussions regarding the prosperity and development of our brotherly nations. In fact, al-Kadhimi’s visit occurred as the efforts taken by Iraq to improve bilateral relations with countries in the region.

Furthermore, the prime minister visited, last week, the Saudi Arabia, where he gathered with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to debate ties between the two countries.

Both countries declared the creation of a common fund, with capital valued at $3 billion, as a contribution from Saudi Arabia to enhance investment in Iraq’s economic sectors.

The statement also said that the common fund would be for the “benefit of the Saudi Arabian and Iraqi economies, with the participation of the private sector from both sides.
