Disney+: The first two episodes of “Star Wars Ahsoka” will be available

The mini-series, consisting of eight episodes, is led by American actress Rosario Dawson and directed by Dave Filoni. For Star Wars fans, the Disney+ video-on-demand platform is a goldmine: it’s filled with spin-off programs from the original saga created by George Lucas. The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, The Mandalorian, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor… On Tuesday, August 22nd, a new series joined the platform’s catalog, Ahsoka, directed by Dave Filoni.

The first two episodes are available as of this morning in France. Conceived as a direct sequel to the animated series Rebels (2014-2018), Ahsoka highlights Ahsoka Tano, a supporting character from The Mandalorian (2019), portrayed by Rosario Dawson (Daredevil, 25th Hour).

Former apprentice of Anakin Skywalker, the future Darth Vader, Ahsoka is a blue-skinned Jedi with a dual quest. She must ensure the training of a young warrior, Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo), and find Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen), a mysterious Imperial dignitary presumed dead but whose shadow looms over the new Republic, according to Franceinfo. Notably, the majority of the characters are women.

“I came up with the character of Ahsoka while I was working with George Lucas during the writing phase of one of The Clone Wars seasons. Since then, I’ve always had in mind to dedicate an entire series to this character who has become very popular…”, explained director Dave Filoni.
