Man kills sick wife in hospital for unbelievable reason
A man allegedly killed his sick wife by strangling her to death while she lay in a hospital bed, according to police as reported by Newsweek.
The man, from Missouri, USA, confessed to killing his wife because he couldn’t care for her and couldn’t afford her hefty medical bills.
The state police received a report from the intensive care unit of a hospital in Jackson County, Missouri, where a witness reported “suspicious injuries” to a woman before the wife’s death was announced the following morning.
Court documents stated that the victim’s husband, Ronnie Weigl, was heard by medical staff saying, “I did it, I killed her, I choked her.”
During police interrogation, Weigl admitted to “killing the victim by strangling her and covering her mouth and nose to prevent her from screaming,” according to court documents.
Weigl indicated in his confession that he left the hospital after killing his wife, mentioning that a family member brought him back to the hospital after doctors discovered his wife was unresponsive.
Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker stated in a release that “Weigl faces a second-degree murder charge in connection with his wife’s death.”
