Fell from a hotel balcony in Argentina: British singer Liam Payne dies

Argentine police confirmed on Wednesday the death of former One Direction singer Liam Payne outside a hotel in Buenos Aires, according to Reuters.

Police stated that the 31-year-old British musician was found dead after falling from the balcony of his third-floor hotel room.

In a statement, Buenos Aires police reported that they were called to the hotel located in the Palermo district of the capital after being informed of a “hostile person, possibly under the influence of drugs and alcohol,” according to their account.

The statement quoted the hotel manager, who said he heard a loud noise at the back of the hotel, and when the police arrived, they found that a man had fallen from the balcony of his room.

Emergency workers confirmed the death of singer Liam Payne, who, according to reports, was found in the hotel’s inner courtyard.

Liam Payne gained worldwide fame as part of the pop group One Direction, which rose to prominence after placing third in the UK version of the music competition The X Factor in 2010. The group disbanded in 2016, and its members pursued different ventures.
