Speaking to reporters at Morristown Airport in New Jersey, as he prepared to return to Washington following a weekend at his Bedminster golf club, Trump stated:
“I think we have some good news coming regarding Hamas and Gaza.”
He added: “We’ve been in talks with Israel, and we want to see if we can bring this whole situation to a halt as soon as possible.”
On Sunday, Netanyahu received Kristi Noem in Jerusalem as part of her visit to Israel, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.

American and Israeli media reported that Trump dispatched Noem to Jerusalem following the death of two employees of the Israeli embassy in Washington last week.
A short statement from Netanyahu’s office on Sunday evening confirmed that U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee accompanied Noem during her meeting with the Prime Minister.
During the talks, Noem expressed her “unwavering support for the Prime Minister and the State of Israel”, and commended him for “his leadership in managing the war” in Gaza, the statement said.

The visit comes as Israel intensifies its military offensive in Gaza, described by the government as a renewed effort to “eliminate Hamas.”
Earlier, Noem and Huckabee visited the Western Wall, where early celebrations were being held for “Jerusalem Day,” observed on Monday.
This national holiday marks what Israel calls the “reunification” of Jerusalem, following its capture of the city’s eastern sector during the 1967 Six-Day War.
Netanyahu’s office also announced that he met earlier Sunday with Democratic U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen.
