Fifteen members of the terrorist group Al-Shabaab were killed in airstrikes in Somalia’s Hiran region.
Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) announced that 15 Al-Shabaab fighters were killed in a coordinated overnight operation carried out near the town of Mabah in the Hiran region, with support from international partners.

The operation, which involved three precise airstrikes, targeted both fighters and senior leaders within the Al-Shabaab group.
According to the agency, the terrorists were preparing to send reinforcements to besieged cells in Hiran, departing from their strongholds in the town of Adan Yabal, in the Shabelle region. The operation is still ongoing, with efforts underway to pursue fleeing militants, amid an official pledge to intensify strikes aimed at dismantling the group’s remaining strongholds in central and southern Somalia.
In recent weeks, Somali authorities have ramped up air and ground military operations against Al-Shabaab hideouts, in cooperation with both local and international partners.
