”Joker case”… The trial of the fugitive contractor and others has been postponed in Egypt

Egyptian prosecutors on Saturday charged fugitive contractor Mohamed Ali with inciting people to commit terrorist crimes.

This came in the details of the statement of the prosecutor, referring “Mohamed Ali” and 102 others before an Egyptian court in the case known by the media as “Joker”.

The Fifth Terrorism Department at the Emergency State Security Court in Tora Courts Complex on Saturday adjourned the case until July 27.

In the referral order, the representative of the Egyptian Public Prosecution said that during the month of September 2019 until 22 September 2019, the defendants, from the 1st “Mohammed Ali” to the 10th, had organized a gathering that would put public peace in danger, including committing an attack on people and influencing the men of the public authority to carry out their acts using force and violence.

The prosecutor explained that this was done by inciting the first and second defendants in video clips that were broadcast on YouTube through the International Information Network to participate in a gathering in Al-Arbaeen Square in the governorate of Suez, and that the accused circulated it on Facebook and WhatsApp websites.

He added : They also directly promoted the commission of terrorist crimes by disseminating video clips on YouTube to the International Information Network. The videos circulated by the defendants on Facebook and on WhatsApp, which include incitement to participate in rallies against the existing public order in the country, in which they influence the men of public authority in carrying out their acts using force and violence with the aim of disrupting public order and endangering the safety and security of society.

The Public Prosecution had completed investigations with 12 of the accused and ordered their detention for 15 days pending investigations.

Over the past two years, in September, the Spanish-based contractor Mohammed Ali, a fugitive, incited Egyptians to protest against the Egyptian state through videos in which he sought to restore the atmosphere of chaos by spreading lies and fabrications.

But his call for protest failed every time, and the Egyptian people ignored his call, as the fugitive contractor did not represent them, rejecting any attempts to harm the security and stability of their country.
