Afghan women in the Taliban era learn ”behind a curtain”

It was unexpected, and it was not surprising. This was the scene of university students receiving a lecture in a university hall in Kabul.

The unconventional photos show what the country will be like under the Taliban, which cracks down on women and prohibits gender mixing.

The Taliban have previously announced that they will allow women to continue studying at universities without mixing with male students.

The Taliban, who seized power in Afghanistan in mid-August after overthrowing the Western-backed government, said they would rule differently from their rule between 1996 and 2001 when they banned girls and women from studying and working.

Boys and girls will also be separated in primary and secondary schools, which is mainly prevalent in conservative Afghanistan.

Over the past 20 years, the number of students enrolled in universities has increased, especially among women who have studied alongside men and attended lectures with male teachers.

However, a series of attacks on educational institutions in recent months have caused panic after claiming dozens of victims.

The Taliban denied responsibility for the attacks, some of which were claimed by ISIL-Khorassan Province.
