After a five-year silence… Adele reveals the secrets of her divorce and psychotherapy
British pop star Adele revealed the difficulties she faced upon reaching the age of 30, which inspired the content of her new album, “30”.
Adele launched her strong return to the music scene through an interview with Vogue magazine, which included a number of confessions.
Adele, who currently resides in Los Angeles, topped the cover of the British and American editions of the famous magazine which published an interview with her in which she left a silence that lasted five years, and talked for the first time about her divorce, psychological treatment, and her stunning loss of weight.
“At the age of 30, my life collapsed without warning,” said Adele, 33 years old, in the British edition of the magazine. “I feel like this album is more like self-destruction then self-reflection then self-salvation.”
Adele spoke about her split in April 2019 with her husband, Simon Konecki, who worked in the financial sector, and founded a charity. Adding: “It was no longer appropriate for me, I wasn’t sad, but I would have been like this if I hadn’t thought of myself before.”
Adele recorded this extremely special album, the release date of which is yet to be known, in order to answer the questions of her son Angelo (nine years old) about this divorce, and to heal the wounds he caused.
She added: “My son has so many questions, really good questions, really innocent questions, I have no answer to” like (why can’t you live together?)”.
She continued: “Through this album, I felt like explaining to him who I am and why I voluntarily chose to dismantle his whole life in the pursuit of my happiness,” in order to understand “when he grows up.”
Adele was able to deal with her anxiety, thanks to a combination of psychotherapy and exercise, which allowed her to lose about 45 kilograms.
She said: “I have to prepare to be famous again, which I don’t like as everyone knows.”
The 15-time Grammy-winning singer said that she is in love with American Rich Paul, who owns a company that manages the works of a number of athletes.
