After the defeats it suffered, is the Muslim Brotherhood still a party in regional events?

Dr. Mamoun Fandy, Professor of Political Science at Georgetown University, said that the Muslim Brotherhood, after the many setbacks it faced, has become limited in its capabilities, and it should not be linked to all events in the region.

Fandy added in a post on the (X) platform: “Some people, when they hold a hammer, see everything in front of them as nails that must be hammered. In the same way, we have been afflicted with a group whose eyes wear glasses called ‘the Brotherhood.’ They see the world only through these glasses. Iran tells them it is allied with the Brotherhood, talk to them about Libya, and they say the Brotherhood. Talk to them about Sudan, and they say I am with Hemeti because Al-Burhan is a Brotherhood member. Speak to them about Gaza and resistance, and they tell you Hamas is Brotherhood allie and allied with Iran, and thus Iran will have borders with Egypt, and so on… And this is, of course, untrue.”

He added: “They carry a hammer and see the whole world as nails, or all Brotherhood. I don’t have a problem with them, but the problem is: What price will the region pay as a result of analyzing illusions as if they were facts? And what will the leaders pay as a result of listening continuously to people with such nonsense for a long time? We are facing a disaster.”
