Antalya Diplomacy Forum: Iran and Gaza, uncertainty situations at the forefront

The fifth edition of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum began on Friday under the slogan “Managing uncertainty situations in shaping the future” and will continue until April 19.

According to Turkish media, around 5,000 guests from more than 150 countries are expected to attend the forum.

The list of participants includes more than 20 heads of state and government, nearly 15 deputy heads of state and government, and more than 50 ministers, including over 40 foreign ministers.

The list of attendees also includes more than 460 high-level figures, among them 75 representatives of international organizations, as well as a large number of academics and students.

It is expected that half of the participants at the head-of-state level will come from Africa and Europe, while 40 percent of the foreign ministers will be from Africa, 35 percent from Europe, and 22 percent from Asia.

The forum will feature more than 40 events and sessions, including sessions dedicated to leaders.

During the sessions held on the sidelines of the forum, numerous issues will be discussed, including the growing uncertainty in the global system, transformation processes, as well as regional developments, particularly the war in Iran and the situation in Gaza, with a focus on political, economic, environmental, and technological issues that form the main axes of the discussions.

Among the main events of the forum are “the third meeting of foreign ministers of the Balkan Peace Platform,” the eight-party (Arab-Islamic) meeting on Gaza, the informal meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States, as well as a meeting bringing together Turkey, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.

The Antalya Diplomacy Conference was founded in 2021, and the fourth edition was held last year under the slogan “Upholding diplomacy in a divided world.”
