Yesterday, the Turkish capital, Ankara, witnessed a terrorist attack targeting the General Directorate of Security under the Ministry of Interior. CNN Turk reported that an explosion was heard near Kizilay Square in Ankara around 9:30 AM, and it was reported that a large number of police forces and medical teams headed to the area.
Several Arab countries have condemned the terrorist attack that occurred in the Turkish capital, Ankara, targeting the headquarters of the General Directorate of Security under the Ministry of Interior.
A Terrorist Crime
Dr. Mohammed Al-Zalfa, former Saudi parliamentarian and political analyst, stated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has confirmed its condemnation and denunciation of the terrorist attempt to attack the security directorate under the Ministry of Interior in the sisterly Republic of Turkey. He emphasized that these incidents are rejected in form and substance, and this incident reaffirms the complete rejection of all forms of violence, terrorism, and extremism.
He added that the Kingdom repeatedly emphasizes efforts aimed at eliminating terrorism and extremism in all its forms and sources of funding. It reaffirms its steadfast position, which rejects all forms of terrorism and violence that lead to destabilization and the intimidation of citizens.
International Efforts in Cooperation
Dr. Tarek Fahmy, Professor of Political Science, said, “We offer our condolences to the Turkish people for the heinous terrorist attempts to target the state.” He pointed out that regional and international efforts to combat terrorism in all its forms must continue, and measures must be taken to put an end to practices aimed at destabilizing states.
He added that many Arab countries have faced and continue to face terrorist activities aimed at destabilizing stability, and terrorism always fails to achieve its goals. It is rejected everywhere, and there should be no tolerance or justifications given to it.
He continued, “Egypt has expressed solidarity with Turkey in the face of any group that uses terrorism as a method of action or a means to achieve political objectives.”
