Famous chocolate withdrawn from shelves due to “glass” contamination
The renowned British company “Hotel Chocolat” has withdrawn one of its products from the market due to concerns about it containing pieces of glass.
Officials at the UK Food Standards Agency said that the “Hotel Chocolat Choose Your Poison” product could be harmful if consumed unintentionally because it contains fragments of glass. A spokesperson for the agency added that “the possibility of glass being present makes this product unsafe to eat and it is sold in Hotel Chocolat, John Lewis stores, and online.”
An announcement on the Food Standards Agency’s website stated, “Hotel Chocolat is recalling the product, notices will be displayed at point of sale in all stores, these notices explain to customers the reason for the product recall and what they should do if they have purchased it.”
