Fingers of accusation point towards the Muslim Brotherhood… Escalation of security deterioration in Taiz
Areas in Yemen under the control of the Reform Party, the Muslim Brotherhood‘s arm in Yemen, especially the city of Taiz, are witnessing a security deterioration manifested in assassinations, the proliferation of murder gangs, theft, and looting.
The latest of these crimes is an assassination attempt that occurred yesterday against the leader of the Congress Party, Mohammed Al-Ruwei. Sources told the Yemeni website “Al-Khabar” that the leader survived the assassination attempt, but one of his companions was shot in the head, taken to the hospital, and is in critical condition.
They confirmed that unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle fired at Al-Ruwei’s car as he passed through the Wadi Al-Qadi area. However, he miraculously survived, indicating that this operation comes amid a plan by the Reform Party to eliminate leaders loyal to Tariq Saleh.
It is worth mentioning that the Muslim Brotherhood has led the file of assassinations throughout the past period, especially in southern Yemen, attempting to eliminate their political opponents and those not supportive of them. The significant wave of assassinations, most of which targeted influential southern leaders on various levels, including political and military, confirms the involvement of the Brotherhood-affiliated Reform Party in these crimes.
