French president Emmanuel Macron to visit UAE on Friday
French President Emmanuel Macron will visit the United Arab Emirates on Friday. According to the statement of the Élysée Palace, which was reported by France 24 channel; the visit will focus on several topics, the most prominent of which are the crises in the Middle East, the fight against terrorism, and the Lebanese and Libyan files.
The statement pronounced that, on the economic front, the UAE may announce an order to purchase dozens of Rafale fighter jets. However, no information has been released by the French presidency or the Dassault aircraft industry group
Emmanuel Macron will arrive on Thursday night in Dubai on Friday, the day after the 50th anniversary of the creation of the United Arab Emirates on December 2, 1971, and will meet Crown Prince Mohammed ben Zayed Al Nahyane. In this regard, the Élysée declared that France “has an old partnership” with the Emirates and this visit “will strengthen it politically, strategically, in defense, but also economically and culturally”.
Macron will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire and Defense Minister Florence Parly, as well as Culture Minister, Foreign Trade Minister and heads of major French groups.
