Houthi militias continue ‏ crimes in Taiz. Details

The Houthi terrorist militia continues to violate the UN truce that was renewed on August 2 for two months.

Two civilians were killed yesterday by snipers from the Houthi terrorist militias east of the city of Taiz, which has been under siege for years.

Local sources, quoted by Yemen Al-Arabi website, said that snipers from the Houthi militias targeted two civilians from Taiz who were crossing near Al-Rawdha Post in the Kulaba neighborhood, east of the city. The two civilians caused serious injuries, and were then transferred to the hospital for treatment.

Yemeni Minister of Information and Culture Muammar al-Eryani condemned the escalation of Houthi sniper fire targeting civilians in Taiz province, which led to the death of a citizen and a child in the past 24 hours.

According to Yemen news channel, the escalation of the militia’s crimes and the deliberate killing of children in the besieged province of Taiz hours after the UN envoy announced the extension of the humanitarian truce reflects the militias’ hatred towards the province, their disregard for the lives of Yemenis, their disregard for the efforts and calls for calm, and their flagrant defiance of the will of the international community

Al-Eryani called on the international community, the United Nations and the UN and US envoys to issue a clear and unequivocal condemnation of these heinous crimes, and to make clear reference to the Houthi militias by standing behind them, and to prosecute and try those responsible, whether leaders or members of the militias, in the International Criminal Court, in a victory for the blood of the victims.

Human rights sources revealed yesterday a siege imposed by the Houthi-backed Iranian coup militias on the Al-Rawda neighborhood in Taiz.

Human rights activist Ishraq al-Maqtari said in a tweet on the Yemeni Scene: “The people of Al Rawdha neighborhood are trapped, and they have been unable to leave or enter their homes, as a result of the sniping that the Houthi militias have on the citizens of the residential neighborhood.”

Sniping operations are intensifying, said al-Maqtari, a member of the National Investigation Committee. She reminded residents of the start of the war in Taiz.
