King Charles loses one of his senses during cancer treatment
King Charles revealed that he lost his sense of taste during his battle with cancer, while medical experts explained that the disease causes such loss of sensation.
The British newspaper “Mirror” reported that it has been over 3 months since King Charles was diagnosed with an unspecified type of cancer.
It added that after undergoing chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery in hopes of destroying the cancer cells threatening his life, King Charles resumed his public duties in a subdued manner.
Nevertheless, the king (75 years old) noticed that he suffered from “loss of taste” during his treatment procedures, and this was not the first time he mentioned it, as he made a similar comment during a visit to a hospital in London two weeks ago.
Dr. Gareth Nye, a senior lecturer at the Chester Medical School, explained that loss of taste occurs as a result of several factors, including the type of cancer and the medications used to treat it.
